06.02.2006I could never imagine the surprise that was waiting for me hidden behind the CD folders on one of those DVD clandestine stores of south China: Medea, by Lars von Trier (1988). The movie-distressed texture, instead of devaluating the result adds a great value to the tough feelings the different sequences light inside us. Playing as a master with the elements, the body shadows through the linen fabrics made by the only flame of a candle, the dead sea water liking the dark sand, or the wind scenes in which we can feel ourselves pushed away, Trier enhances the power of the main core, LOVE AND HATRED.

How much a person should hate in order to finish with everything he/she loved just for revenge?

And the end…what a great/simple mute explanation of somebody getting mad of real pain!
